Game of Thrones Cosplay at a Party!

I recently went to my brothers 30th Birthday Party as you hopefully know from my previous blogs! It was a Game of Thrones/Star Wars fancy dress themed party and I was amazed by the level of creativity and the high standard of the costumes on show at the event.

The main characters were Joffery, Margaery, Daenerys, Cersei, Jaime (x2), Jon Snow and Ygritte. On this blog I am going to discuss the costumes apart from Jon and Ygitte who will be coverted in seperate blogs.

Joffery Baratheon - Josh

Josh's (or Joffery!) costume works really well as it's simple in design but captures the character immediately. He used an Indian tunic for the main part of the costume and then bought a purple sash as Joffery wears a similar one at his wedding in Season 4. He wore a some light fabric trousers and then some brown sandals. His belt was a big plastic belt and he also had a cheap sword that he bought for £3. The crown was made by Dr. Nice and I. Margaery Tyrell - Naomi

Naomi's costume was based from a beautiful light blue dress that she customised with a dark purple sash down the middle. She also tailored the dress on the shoulders to look like one of Margaery's dresses from Season 3. She wore sandals to complete the costume.

It was great that there were couples who came as relationships from the actual TV show, like Joffery and Margaery, Jon and Ygritte, and the controversial Cersei and Jaime!

The other couple who attended the party were Jaime and Daenerys. Below you can find out more information about their costumes!

Daenerys Targaryen - Laura

Laura decided to go as Daenerys and chose the blue outfit that was used in Season 3 of Game of Thrones. She created the costume by buying some blue fabric to create the dress and the cloak. She also bought some grey leggings and wore some boots in order to make the costume as authentic as possible. She even has a motorised Dragon she can carry around!

Jaime Lannister - Phil

Phil's costume was based on a version of Jaime Lannister from Season 3 of the show, recreating when Jaime has had his hand cut off and is imprisoned by the Bolton's along with Brienne. Phil has a different number of accessories in order to make the costume including a prop hand covered with red food colouring, while his real attached hand has been covered in bandages to resemble a stump, and also a neck slave collar. The costume had a black cloak and Phil also wore riding boots to complete the costume.

Cersei Lannister - Kayleigh

Kayleigh got her medieval outfit from a Fancy Dress shop in their local City. They found the right colour dress, got a Gold pendant and then she finished it off with a Cersei wig bringing it all together!

Jaime Lannister - Tom

Tom also bought the majority of his costume from a Fancy Dress shop! He found one with armour and a red cape and then got a sling as an accessory for Jaime's chopped off limb!
